What is Base64?
Base64 is a way to write any data using only 64 safe text characters (letters, digits, plus and slash). It is used to put binary data or special characters inside JSON, URLs, emails, HTML data URIs and API headers without breaking them.
How to encode
Type or paste your text on the left and press Encode. The Base64 version appears on the right.
How to decode
Paste a Base64 string on the left and press Decode. Spaces and line breaks in the input are ignored, and both normal and URL-safe Base64 are accepted.
What is URL-safe Base64?
URL-safe Base64 replaces plus with a dash and slash with an underscore, and drops the equals padding. It is the variant used in JWT tokens and inside web addresses. Tick the URL-safe box before pressing Encode to produce it.
Does it support Unicode?
Yes. Text is converted with UTF-8 first, so Urdu, Arabic, accented letters and emoji encode and decode correctly.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Everything happens in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server.
